2016 – A New Year Begins

2016 New Year

What can I say?  Time has been “flying” by so to speak and a new year has begun.  As you can see Day 1 of my new year sees me heading off to the “Wild Blue Yonder” as the first day of the new year is a  work day for me.  And a long one at that.  Even though I haven’t posted any photographs in the past several days does not mean the camera has been stuck in its bag.  I just haven’t felt like spending time in front of my “dark room” computer screen working on them.

Having said that, I have been making some changes in my social media involvement.  My FaceBook account has been deleted.  That’s right I deleted my account.  I found myself spending way too much time there whether it was checking to see if I had any new likes to wondering what others were up to.  Its gone.  Kaput.  I’m also doing the best I can to ween myself off the camera forums I would peruse and participate on a daily basis.  Finis!

I’ve also lost 10 pounds in the last two months and that’s before I even thought about a New Year’s resolution!  10 more is my next goal.

More than anything else though, I’m removing these unnecessary distractions from my life to spend more time on what’s really important.  And that’s FAMILY!

It seems my photography hobby and social media can get in the way of what’s really important in my life and its easy to become distracted from what really matters as I spend a lot of time on the road.  2016 is a year to reprioritize and spend the time and energy to ensure those in my life get my 100% attention!
