We had a wonderful evening last night at The Market Place Restaurant & Lounge in Asheville. My good friend Joe invited my wife and I along for an evening of wonderful Italian food with some awesome music performed by the Guggino Trio.
The menu included such things as frito misto, roasted pumpkin risotto, hand cut pappardelle, and linguine in red sauce, basil, parmesan with bison meatballs. Wow, there were four us and we each had something different and there were no complaints.
Along with the wonderful meal the music was top notch. The Guggio Trio played two sets for us. The group includes two members from the Steep Canyon Rangers (Mike Guggino and Nicky Sanders) and Barrett Smith with the Shannon Whitworth Band.
BTW, the Steep Canyon Rangers have a new CD out called “Nobody Knows You”, you should check it out.
I wasn’t sure if I should post this next photograph, but these two spectators were completely mesmerized by the musicians playing. Their father brought them up to get a closer look and they didn’t want to leave. He’s standing next to them in the photo. I gave them my card and hope they give me a shout as I have a couple more images that I’d like to share with them.
