My Sky

My Sky

My Sky | Leica M-E, Leica Summilux-M 50mm f/1.4 pre-ASPH

As I was sitting here enjoying the early evening sky I realized I hadn’t taken a photograph yet today.  This sky that I was looking at reminded me too much of work.  You may ask how can that be?  It’s a perfect sky to me.  As a pilot I get to see this often from the view out my window.  The blue sky peaking through the white billowing clouds and you wonder what really is on the other side.  Sometimes you want to just reach out and touch them or wonder if you could lounge on one for a bit.  Yet the wings of the aircraft slice through them with ease.  However, there are times they give you a thump back warning you that when they’re dark and ominous they can make your life miserable as pilot and passenger.  The cloud is telling you that you’re in their world, not yours.  So when you’re in the air traveling I hope you will remember why this is my sky.
