I want to thank all of you that are following my blog. Its been an amazing year. On the last day of the year my site crossed 100k views. When I started this blog I had no idea of where it would go or for that matter that I’d be shooting with the camera I have now. My work travels have taken to places I hadn’t been before and fortunately I’ve had a few chances to get out of the hotel and see the sites.
On the evening before New Years Eve my wife and I got a hotel in Asheville to get away for the evening. No dog hogging the bed and a kingsize to boot. We stayed at the Hilton Biltmore Park and used some of my Hilton points to cover the evening. There are many cool shops and restaurants around the hotel and we decided to window shop a bit before dinner. We walked into the Orvis shop to look at men’s stuff. However, we walked out with a new coat for my wife. She’s been looking for one and we found a plum Exofficio winter jacket.
From there we headed down the other side of the street and dropped into Joni’s Artisanal Wine and Beer store. We enjoyed a beer and a glass of wine before heading over to the Thirsty Monk. After some fries and a couple beers we made our way to Travinia Italian Kitchen and ate some appetizers and a couple glasses of wine. We made it an early evening and went back to our room to enjoy an evening together alone.
We slept in before heading down to a late breakfast before heading off to the Biltmore Estate. We bought a season pass as my wife and I enjoy the many things to see there.
