My wife and I drove up to Black Balsam today and hiked for two hours on the Sam’s Knob Trail. I left my Leica at home but made a few photos and a couple videos with my iPhone 7. The weather was perfect with temperatures in the high 60s.
My son and I hiked to the top of Looking Glass yesterday. I’ve always wanted to hike this trail but for whatever reason I never have.

I had just got home from my week at work and my son was anxious to get out. I hadn’t paid too much attention to the trail details before getting started. Well, we hiked a total of 6.48 miles, over 2,000′ elevation change and completed the hike in less that 3 hours.
It’s been a joy living here in the Connestee Falls Community for the past 10 years. Our home is situated on the first fairway of the Connestee Falls Golf course.
