11th Annual Ricoh Photo Contest

Thought I’d start my first blog post with news I received today from Ricoh that my recent image entry to their 11th Annual Ricoh Photo Contest has been selected for a ”Performance Award” out of 2401 entries.  Plus my photo was selected to be part of their Ricoh Photo Calendar for 2012.

  1. An iconic image and beautifully done in black and white. To me, I could be looking at an image from one of Mark Twain’s stories. Superbly seen and finished.

Congratulations! Your win is well deserved!

Really beautiful composition. I love the placement of the ripples from the fishing line. I could look at this every day. Congrats on your win!

  11. Congratulations! A winning photo in everyway. Amazing cloud formation that seems to brew a storm in contrast to the calm, even playful waters below. Reminded me of the amazing Texan sky I see everyday…more when the weather is throwing a tantrum! Cool…

    • Thanks island traveler for the nice comments. I lived in Fort Worth for a couple years and I too miss those Texas skies.

  12. Well done, Duane! It’s a cracker of a photograph; beautifully composed, sharp focus, like the B/W almost sepia look and the content is relaxed and serene! Looks like I’ve found another cracker of a blog to follow!

    Cheers
