Antique Cars | July 4th Brevard, NC

I think this has been my first July 4th I’ve not been away from working in a few years. It was definitely a nice change and I had a chance to enjoy one of the many festivals our little town puts on throughout the year.

Every July 4th Brevard shuts down our two main streets and has a great celebration. This year was unique that the 4th fell in the middle of the week. But it didn’t stop the crowds from showing up.

The July 4th festival has always included an antique car show. This year was no different. However, as you can see in some of the photos below, it did rain on us for a bit in the middle of the day. The rain didn’t bother my wife and I as we were both prepared and were able to hang out under an umbrella until it let up a bit.

So I took the opportunity to experiment with shooting some old cars. There was one in particular that really caught my attention, “Lemon Ice”. The car happened to be for sale ($72,000) and had about every cool mod you can do to a car.

As I said it did rain a little on us and I tried to capture a bit of the mood that created while we waited for the weather to clear.

After traveling for a week at a time one can really appreciate the small home town feeling one has living here in Brevard.
