The main reason why I photograph with a Leica camera:

“I want simplification, not amplification or complication…I just want light controls … because photography is about light.” – Thorsten Overgaard

“A camera that gives me the joy of ownership and the joy of shooting is much more important than one with the highest number of megapixels or highest ISO performance.” – Yukio Uchida

“A great photograph is one that fully expresses what one feels, in the deepest sense, about what is being photographed.” ― Ansel Adams

“You just have to live and life will give you pictures.” – Henri Cartier-Bresson

The “Lux” as in 50mm Summilux-M | 2013-01-14

A new era has arrived and its bolted onto the front of my camera.  I was really hoping for some nice light this morning but its been raining cats and dogs all day long.  However, I did manage to “experiment” with Mr. “Lux” today as I had some errands to accomplish in town.

As I said in an earlier post I’ve sold a couple items to help fund this purchase and today I had some boxes to get mailed.  So while at our local UPS store a very nice UPS representative was helping me package one of the camera items I was shipping.  She apparently had some interest in photography so I thought it would be a nice excuse to share my photography interests too.

After shipping my package I headed over to our local pet store for some dog food. At Pure Pets they have a store cat that always looking for attention. Of course I had to grab a couple shots of her:

By the time I got home the rain let up just enough so that I could jump out of the truck and grab my standard “bench at lake” shot.
