I got to Monterey mid afternoon after leaving Dallas, TX earlier in the morning. The hotel I’m staying is a little over a mile to the beach and a bit farther to Fisherman’s Wharf. I left the hotel around 6pm as sunset is around 8pm. I headed straight to the beach area and thought I’d walk the beach to the wharf vice using the sidewalk along the road that leads to downtown.
